Will she bring the gift of acceptance, or will she break the bonds that have been forged through the fires of hell? Heather's job was to guard Sam's body. As part of the team assigned to the protection of the August family, she had taken her job seriously. Until a madman learned she was Sam August's weakness. Until the past rose with deadly intent and surprising secrets. Will Sam be able to deny his passion for this woman, or will the dark nightmares and sensuous desires that rage through them both be the cause of his destruction, and the destruction of the woman he loves?
What I thought:
I had a better time with this book than the first two. Heather and Sam were great. My favorite characters of the bunch. While I still find Marly annoying, it wasn't as bad in this one. But I do suppose she is still pretty young, and I have a hard time seeing her as an adult.
I was pleasantly surprised by the ending, a nice twist that I really didn't see coming, because you know I wasn't looking for it. Most times I think the suspense plot is just thrown in there without much thought, but this was thought out and played out well in the end. While I wasn't trying to figure out who was really after them, it did catch me off guard.
This wasn't my favorite of Lora Leigh's series, and I might not revisit this one.
Hey guys! I'm a big fan of reading and writing. I have been writing my own little reviews on shelfari and decided to try my own blog. I love all kinds of books, mystery, paranormal romance, urban fantasy, young adult, erotica, historical romances and just any romance book.
I own a Kindle and love browsing Amazon for free ebooks as well as getting my favorite authors and series on my portable library system. This has changed the way I read. I have gone to a couple books a month to a couple books a week.
