Last Kiss by Dominique Adair

Released: September 2001
Publisher: Ellora's Cave
Rated: Adult

Sensual Vampire Romance E-book: For centuries Alexei Romanov has been searching for her, for the Russian gypsy he'd fallen in love with the first time their eyes had met. Three times he'd found her over the years and three times he'd lost her, death having taken her away when he'd been unable to protect her. Now at last, thirty years since her last incarnation, he has found her once again. This time Alexei is determined to never let the fates separate them again, and to claim her for all eternity.

What I thought:

I wasn't expecting too much out of this. I liked it, but I had a sense of dread when the name of Elaine's dark lover was announced. I tend to stay away from such things, but really, Alexei Romanov was indeed who I thought he was, it wasn't focused at all about the past or about what happened to his family. Instead it was about him looking for his lost love, so in the end I was pleased that the author stayed away from the Romanov tragedy.

I was expecting a bit more steamy scenes, but it focused more on Elaine's illness and the relationship. Which isn't bad, but not what I was looking for when I picked it up.

I gave it 3 stars!
