Successful businessman Ryan Bennett had agreed to masquerade as his wealthy cousin for a blind date.
But from the moment Ryan saw Julie Nelson to the moment he should have said good-night, he was captivated and couldn't resist an invitation to share her bed. In the hazy afterglow of their heated lovemaking, Ryan confessed his true identity, claiming the passion between them was real despite his deception, but Julie wasn't buying it. They are a new breed, a new race. Engineered rather than born, trained rather than raised, and their unique genetics have created more than one surprise... Jacob left Faith six years before, unaware that the mark he left on her also left her in an agony of sexual heat that never dimmed. Now Jacob and Faith are together again, but surprises lurk around every corner and dangers as dark and deadly as their very creation surround them in more ways than one.
What I thought:
The Wolf breeds are a nice break to the felines. I liked the storyline of Jacob and Faith although they each left me frustrated at several points (but I think that was the point) and I was just waiting for them to kiss and make up, so to speak.
These books just get hotter and hotter. I had trouble with some of the previous, with really hot scenes and a storyline I've read before, but it looks like Leigh is switching it up, for the better, and I can't wait to see what happens with this series.

The last place Catherine MacPherson ever expected to find herself was sitting on a Greyhound bus, handcuffed to a surly bounty hunter, with only a suitcase of her twin sister's flashy, shrink-wrap clothing to wear! Just two hours ago, the respectable schoolteacher was sitting quietly at home when this bi macho hunk crashed through her door, mistook her for her errant Miami showgirl sister, and hauled her off in his strong arms. And no matter how sexy he is, she's furious! Twins-ha! Sam McKade's the last person to ever fall for that line. He's finally got the gorgeous, leggy redhead just where he wants her-and no matter what outrageous tricks she pulls, he's not letting her get away. The problem is, she's a lot smarter-and sweeter-than he'd expected. And he's got this deep-buried tenderness she hadn't expected. And their kisses are so hot, they just might burn up ... before they sort it all out.
What I thought:
I really liked this. It was cute, heartwarming tale. Except I wanted to ring Kaylee's neck through the entire novel. Even after the two twins made up and forgave each other.
The story itself was a great one. Mistaken identity, chased by a hit man while trying not to fall in love with the bounty hunter who is dragging her across country to go to jail in her sisters stead. It kept me on the edge of my seat in the critical moments and had me sighing in pleasure in the tender ones.
It’s hard to be a badass assassin when a giant is beating the crap out of you. Luckily, I never let pride get in the way of my work. My current mission is personal: annihilate Mab Monroe, the Fire elemental who murdered my family. Which means protecting my identity, even if I have to conceal my powerful Stone and Ice magic when I need it most. To the public, I’m Gin Blanco, owner of Ashland’s best barbecue joint. To my friends, I’m the Spider, retired assassin. I still do favors on the side. Like ridding a vampire friend of her oversized stalker—Mab’s right-hand goon who almost got me dead with his massive fists. At least irresistible Owen Grayson is on my side. The man knows too much about me, but I’ll take my chances. Then there’s Detective Bria Coolidge, one of Ashland’s finest. Until recently, I thought my baby sister was dead. She probably thinks the same about me. Little does she know, I’m a cold-blooded killer . . . who is about to save her life.
What I thought:
These are just getting better and better the more I read. The heat is on and there is no turning back for Gin after this novel. I loved the dynamic of the characters and the introduction of Detective Coolidge. Estep has created a wonderful plot and has written it to perfection.
I just love novels that have a continued theme. And at the same time I don't. I just want to know what happens, but I love the whole process and all the details and planning that go into stories as such as this series. I'm a bit sad that the next book, Tangled Threads, is scheduled (for now) for May of 2011. But this is definitely one series that I will be revisiting and an author that I will be keeping an eye out for. Jennifer Estep has definitely earned a place on my favorite author list. If you haven't tried this series yet, you really should pick it up! You won't be sorry!
The unscrupulous new Council chair has charged Jace, Marc and me with trespassing, kidnapping, murder and treason. Yeah, we've been busy. But now it's time to take justice into our own hands. We must avenge my brother's death and carve out the rot at the heart of the Council.
It's not going to be easy, and loss seems unavoidable, but I have promised to protect my Pride, no matter what. With a target on my back and Marc at my side, I'm heading for a final showdown that can—that will—change everything forever. A showdown I'm not sure I'm ready for.
But life never waits until you're ready.
What I thought:
This was one of the most frustrating novels I have ever read. But I loved it. There was so much conflict, so much that goes wrong for Faythe when I just wanted things to be okay for her. I am sad to say goodbye to the characters, but I know this novel wasn't written to go on and on as the author saw fit. We finally got the showdown that has been brewing for some time now.
Vincent's final novel is probably her best in the series. It was extremely well written and plotted out. It was heart wrenching for most of it, but I loved it. We didn't see alot of the humor as we did in the previous books, but this one has a darker, more serious side than the previous ones. It was a fantastic finish for a great series. I look forward to seeing what else Vincent will write in the future.
Hey guys! I'm a big fan of reading and writing. I have been writing my own little reviews on shelfari and decided to try my own blog. I love all kinds of books, mystery, paranormal romance, urban fantasy, young adult, erotica, historical romances and just any romance book.
I own a Kindle and love browsing Amazon for free ebooks as well as getting my favorite authors and series on my portable library system. This has changed the way I read. I have gone to a couple books a month to a couple books a week.
