Teaser Tuesday (14)

teasertuesdays31
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Dead People by Edie Ramer
Book 1 of the Haunted Heart series

Okay, I'm sharing two teasers from this book!  Cheating a bit, but I couldn't decide between the two!

"I miss women who talk about women things."
"You're changing the subject.  Keep it up and I'll talk about my period.  That's a woman thing."
------

Her client fit the house, just as gloomy.  So what if he had the kind of looks that made her breath catch and her knees weaken?  Dracula had the same effect on a lot of women, and all that made him was a woman killer.

Book synopsis:

When Cassie Taylor talks, ghosts listen. She wants to heal their souls so they can leave earth. Brooding songwriter Luke Rivers wants to give his recently found daughter a normal home, but he discovers his new house in small town Wisconsin is haunted by a ghost with an attitude. His ghost whisperer has an attitude too—even before someone tries to kill her.

He wants conventional; she wants acceptance. No wonder she thinks men are hard and dead people are easy.

I can see why you had a difficult time choosing.

Aimee, I don't know if the author is supposed to comment, but I'm delighted that you chose Dead People and the two teasers. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it!

Hi Aimee,

Great teaser lines and thanks for including the synopsis, I have to say, I am intrigued.

I have to confess, that this is not my usual reading genre, but I am seeing so many great recommended titles in the genre, that I am going to have to succumb and try a few.

Two good teasers - I especially liked the second. Thanks for visiting!

I love that kind of heroine. Who can blame her for preferring stiffs?

Aimee said...

Yvonne, you should give it a try! It isn't really heavy set into the paranormal like vampires and werewolves.

Both are fabulous, I can see how it would be difficult to choose! That first one made me laugh:) I'm a big fan of anything paranormal so I'll have to give this one a try!

Here is my teaser from Out of Touch by Brandon Tietz (Page vii):

I used to be the kind of guy that would have no problem reading Playboy or Hustler on an airplane, but that me in "the before," and nearly everything has changed since that time in my life a little over a year ago.

This is not a coming of age story.

If that's what you're wanting then I suggest you put this down and read something else: something with a happy ending. Like Penthouse.

Or: the funny pages.

This is me giving you your official warning.

Because where this goes, you might not be ready for.

My Tuesday Teaser

Aimee said...

BLH, it had plenty of great lines! Don't let the funny parts fool you, it has some serious moments that made me need a box of kleenex too!

Love both teasers, especially the first ;)

Great lines, I'm putting this onto my TBR list in Goodreads.
