Stroke of Midnight by Bonnie Edwards

Released: January 24, 2011
Publisher: Carina Press
Rated: Adult

An unlikely Cinderella...
When hardworking single mom Jaye Sinns meets younger playboy Alexander Carmichael, the sexual chemistry between them is undeniable. So Jaye gives in to temptation and allows him to whisk her away for her first-ever vacation. Two glorious weeks of no inhibitions, no strings and no responsibilities.
A charming prince of a guy...
Life with Alex is every woman's fantasy—sizzling sex in the back of a limo, on a private plane, in exotic settings. But it's not enough to fulfill a woman like Jaye for long. No matter how hot the sex is.
A happy ending?
Alex is soon craving more than Jaye's body: he wants her love and admiration, too. For the first time in his life, he can't buy the thing he desires most; and now he must decide if he's willing to work at being the kind of man that Jaye needs, and give her the happily-ever-after she deserves.

What I thought:

This was pretty decent. Some of the scenes felt like too much teasing, but over all, I liked it and thought it was pretty steamy and well written. I wasn't so sure about the characters at first, sometimes the single mom stuff gets to me, but this didn't feel like Jaye was sorry for the way her life turned out and was looking for a pity party. She was a very strong character. Likewise, so was Alex. At first I thought he might come off as shallow but soon realized it he was just very cautious and turned into a lovable character.

Thanks Aimee! Stroke of Midnight was written for pure fun and I'm glad you enjoyed it. And no, Jaye wasn't into pity parties...too busy for that!

Nice blog you have here...I'm off to look at it.

I love that your reading has increased with your Kindle. How cool!

(just a little p.s. I know a single mom who's raised a great son -- her reward has recently been a new connection with an old love and so far, it rocks.)

Thanks Bonnie! I'm not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing, but I have been reading a lot more since I invested in the Kindle! Luckily my fiance loves to game so I get to read when he does that!

This sounds good! Sometimes I like the single mom in a story. It adds another layer to her character. So she falls for the younger man, huh? Very nice!

Diana, this was well done! Very strong mom who isn't ashamed of her single mom status!

Diana, even better is that he falls for her! LOL

And she deserves it.
