Friday Follow (8)

Today's questions:

Q. Inspired by the inane twitter trend of #100factsaboutme, give us five BOOK RELATED silly facts about you.

  1. I make sure to pack atleast 3 books with me, even for weekend trips.
  2. I am constantly downloading free reads from Amazon, yet I have barely picked up one of those reads.
  3. Easily entertained, I really do have a hard time finding a book I absolutely hate. I found some I thought were just okay.
  4. Once I start a book I have to finish it.  Even if it is horrible.  Like Wuthering Heights or His Dark Materials Trilogy.  It's torture but I have to finish!
  5. When putting books on my shelf, I have to keep them all organized by binding. All the paperbacks are together, the hardbacks... it drives people crazy because I don't keep series together!
Leave me a comment and I will follow back!!

Lol! I know what you mean about packing a lot of books, even for small trips! I do the exact same thing! ;) One book is never enough!

Thank the Gods there is someone else out there like me. I too have a really difficult time finding a book that I hate. I think of all the books I've read in my short life there is only one I absolutely hated. Of course there are some that were just okay but it takes something pretty terrible for me to seriously dislike it.

Also, how can you not keep your series' together? That would drive me nuts :P

Old follower. Have a great weekend :D

I keep my series together, but other then that I keep all my HB and PB together. I don't think I could break up my series.

I love Wuthering Heights! haha
My husband and I used to pack probably 3 or 4 books each for trips. Took up a lot of space! So we got each other Kindles for our respective birthdays and LOVE them!

Thanks again for your comment!

Hopping through. I wasn't a big Wuthering Heights fan either. Too depressing.

Hopping through! I, too, have to finish the book once I start reading it, quitting is not an option! :)

I do the paperbacks separate, more or less, too. But I have all the John Grisham novels, for instance, together in paperback and then the hardback Grisham novels together. I'd love a few of those spinning racks or something similar for the paperbacks. Just like a library! ;)

Here's my 5 bookish things.

Hi there. I am your newest follower and your blog is really cute! Please stop by my blog to follow me as well. :)

Thanks and I am always downloading the free books for my NookColor and I rarely read mine haha. I just figure I might as well get them while they're free and maybe one day I'll be really poor for a little while and I'll have a ton of TBR books to occupy my reading time until I am cash-rich again haha. (^_^)

Jessica said...

See, I'm all about alphabetizing my books by author's last name. And if there's multiple series, then it still maintains alphabetical order and then going in order of series release or how I read them for multiple series.

Here's my Friday Hops

Have a GREAT weekend!

I also rarely hate a book, I think it's because I know how much work a writer puts into writing it. I also don't read a book I don't think I will love, so I think that helps too.

I do the same thing, if I start a book I have to finish even if it's a crappy book. I hate leaving books unfinished.

Al said...

haha I have a lot of those same problems.
My book organization is insane, but it makes perfect sense to me.
1st by author alphabetically, but then within each author it's seperated between book sizes, and within book sizes it goes back to being alphabetical.
I can find books pretty easy though. And it's pretty. So YAY for that!

Thanks for hopping by my site, I'm like you - I rarely read a book I don't like. I don't know if it's because I am easily pleased, or if I just KNOW what I like when I see it! LOL

On the sidebar I saw a quote by Richelle Mead, and it mentioned a Georgina, I have that trilogy on my nook waiting to be read right now - that was a great quote (about "advanced copies") lol! Makes me want to read the series even more now, I LOVED Mead's Vampire Academy series, I think ever since I read that series I'm raving about it to everyone I know who hasn't read it yet! :)

Nice to connect with you, I'm a new follower now, look forward to getting to know you more!

OMG- SO TRUE, #2! Add Sony free ebooks (I'm getting some right now!) to the mix and you've got me. But I have a queue of a gazillion books to read and review, and that doesn't include my freebies! yikes. I better live to 10,000 yo!

I have only recently given myself permission NOT to finish a book, but I rarely take myself up on that :P Like maybe twice?

Thanks for the comment and follow! Followed you back. ^^ I honestly do not know why I cut up the book. The only thing I remember was sitting on my bedroom floor, with Moby Dick in pieces. I fully regret it now!

Hehe, I like your facts. Once I start a book, I too have to finish it. I can't stand it when I have a book halfway finished and I decide not to read it anymore. Every book has potential! Also, I too find myself downloading tons of free e-books and never reading them. I have a long list of e-books that I need to start cracking on.

I do the same with the free reads I have so many on my Kindle for the pc not sure how I am going to catch up.

My family and friends always tease me for how many books I bring on trips. I tend to have a suitcase full of clothes and one full of books! That's one of the reasons why I like my Nook. It's great for trips because I can fit so many books on one device!

I can related to your second comment because I am doing the same with Kobo free ones and with the ARCs I can get from NetGalley now. I give NetGalley preference so the Kobo ones are still sitting there waiting!

I'm like that too in organizing my bookshelves. I used to have to finish a book all the way through. Now though I've gotten where I don't have to force myself. Even just today there was a book I have for review that I'm just not enjoying and I told myself to just stop. Move on to something I will enjoy.

Thanks for following, I'm following you as well now! Have a great weekend. :)

Lisa said...

Totally different from you in that I can't force myself to read. If a book is rubbish i'll give up after chapter 1 and move onto something new. Why waste valuable and rare time? Haha

Book Addict said...

Thanks for stopping by and following my blog. Following you back :) I not only have to finish a book once I've started it, I usually have to finish a series if I start one. I've slogged through some really turgid books as a result.

On the other hand, being a persistent stubborn reader has paid off - if I had given up early, I never would have read through Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand by Saumel R. Delany, which is simply brilliant, but was really hard for the first 100 or so pages.

I also have a horrible problem of having to finish every book I read! I'm getting better about putting them down, but I've definitely suffered through some painful reads - and listens! Lordy, try having to listen to a horrible fake British accent on audiobook (Incarceron) through 2 hours of Los Angeles traffic. lol

I finish every book too - as long as I'm far enough in. If I'm only, say, ten pages in and I hate it, then I won't continue :)

Hi there. New follower. :-)

I have very strict organizational rules for myself. Silly, I know and it drives me crazy if something isn't right or out of order.

I, too, must read something completely through once I've started it. I see so many people that just "quit" books and I couldn't do it if I wanted to. (it's a condition. haha)

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping by my blog :) I'm your newest follower. We are very much alike when it comes to reading, but if I can't really get into a book, I'll put it down, pick up another, and go back to it later. I used to force myself to read an entire book even if I hated it, but now I would rather just enjoy myself. And remember, if you hate it and can't finish it, it's not a total loss if the cover is pretty, lol.

Have a great weekend!

I'm a bit late in the follow up on the hop, but better late than never! :)

Am following back and in reading your five, I'm thinking your a better person than me. If I dislike a book I *can't* finish it! I'm often tempted to give it a solid thump against the desk. lol.

I do the same as your no.2 and never heard of doing something like 5. Sounds intriguing though. :)
