Review: Forever Again by Shannon Stacey

Released: April 18, 2006
Publisher: Samhain Publishing
Rated: Adult

Fifteen years ago, Gena Taylor and Travis Ryan were forced into a marriage neither wanted, the price they paid after one night of passion. But what he believed to be a lie forced Travis to walk out of her life shortly thereafter, crushing Gena's dreams of a happily ever after with the only man she'd ever loved. Fifteen years later, Travis and Gena meet again. Only now, she owns the inn he's considering for his wedding-to another woman. And this time, she's guarding her heart carefully. She's not going to allow him to hurt her-or their daughter. Despite their resolve to keep things impersonal, the past comes rushing back and feelings they both thought long dead rise from the ashes. But there are other lives at stake now, including that of the child Travis once thought was a lie.

What I thought:

Finished the Kowalski novels by Stacey and had to run and grab another novel by hers. I was not let down at all! Like I said in a previous review for one of her books, I have a love/hate relationship with books with second chances. I keep dwelling on the time they didn't get to be together and oh! This was no different. But unlike the previous, this had an added element for complication. Travis is engaged to someone else.

I love secret baby stories though. Don't ask me why, but I can't get enough. This was my first, however, where the child was older. Mia is in her teens and has never met her father, who doesn't live all that far away. The added problems that Mia added were very entertaining and made for such a great story! I have found I really love Shannon Stacey's writing and will be looking out for more from her in the future.

You've piqued my interest with this one. Just wondering how it all came about. Hopefully not a misunderstanding. Those story lines are so frustrating! And hopefully he didn't knowingly abandon his child. I guess I'll have to read it to find out. *grins* Great review!

Thanks Diana! It's a bit complicated and I'm afraid to give it away, but I liked it!
