Waiting on Wednesday (23)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris
A Sookie Stackhouse Novel, Book 11
Release Date: May 3, 2011
With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. Sookie suspects otherwise, but her attention is divided when she realizes that her lover Eric Northman and his "child" Pam are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, Sookie is drawn into the plot-which is much more complicated than she knows...

The last two didn't really thrill me, but I'm hoping this is the one that makes a comeback.  I've been on the fence for a while on this series and have been hoping for this to be wrapped up.  I have liked the first several books,  and after Bill got the boot, I loved it.  But with the less than stellar storylines lately, I'm not sure if it can be redeemed.  Until then, however, I will be still be reading, maybe just borrowing from the library instead of buying them.

I have the 1st sitting on my dresser but haven't started, too worried that I'll dislike it as much as the tv show.

Oh Kristina... I think they are way way better than the tv show. Up until book 9 or so, I loved them completely.

I'm currently on the fourth installment. They're very readable books. Ever since I finished the second one, I've just been grabbing the next one off shelves as soon as I'm done with the previous one or sooner.

Right there with you on this series! They started out pretty amazing, even had a mystery. They were called the Southern Vampire Mystery novels before becoming Sookie Stackhouse ones. Charlaine said that there's going to be 2 more books I think after this one before she ends the series. It was something like that. Can't remember all the details. But yeah, the last 2 didn't wow me like they used to. Will still get it likely.

Here's my WoW

Happy Reading!
