It all started when this crazy scientist dropped something in my Grande Mocha Latte. Of course I got wicked sick. Next morning I'm waking up with this total hottie bending over me. He tells me 1)his name's Rome Masters, 2)he's a government agent and 3)I can control the four elements with a thought.
He seems even less pleased by my (apparently irreversible) transformation than I am . . . Because now he'll have to kill me.
What I thought:
Loved, loved, loved it! Gena Showalter is such a great writer. Steamy scenes, humor, raw emotions are all infused into this story. I loved the characters that she brings to life. Belle was so interesting. She's not your normal kickass heroine. A little flaky, she's just another girl hoping for better things to come as she works her life away.
The most endearing part of this, to me, was the relationship between Belle and her father. Such love and devotion, sacrifices are made so her father can get the care he needs and it shows. Belle's father was such a fun character when we got to see him too. You can hear the affection for each other in their voices, even if the father is an incurable flirt.
The story was very interesting and fast pace that kept me glued to the book until the very last word. Gena Showalter is just magnificent story crafter, every detail is planned so well that everything flows perfectly. While it has a serious side, there were some very humorous moments were I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Such a great book, if you haven't read it yet, you need to go get it now and sink into this fantastic story!

Great review! This is one of my favorite books from Gena Showalter! It has so many funny and sweet moments in it! Belle is a great heroine! =)
I read this book over a year ago and really liked it. The 2nd book is good too. I hope she continues the series.
I read that she doesn't have a 3rd in the works but not to count Belle out just yet. So I hope another will eventually get written. Thankfully no huge cliffhangers.
I have had this one sitting on my Kindle for ages, I even bought the second book for fear it would go out of print because I really struggled to find it in the first place. I still need to finish her Alien Huntress, which I love this review is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you I think I'm gonna read it next!
I adored this book. More than her Underworld series. I love how it's both sexy and funny.

I liked this book much more than I thought I would... the sequel too. But I am also a Gena Showalter uber-fan so I'm a little biased.
