Just because Piper's birthday is on Valentine's Day does not mean she's a romantic. In fact, after watching her father and then her stepfather leave, she's pretty sure she doesn't believe in love at all. Then her friends concoct a plan to find them all Valentine's dates, and somehow Piper finds herself with the most popular guy in school. But true love never follows a plan, and a string of heartfelt gifts from a secret admirer has Piper wondering if she might be with the wrong guy.
In this heartwarming romance, true love is more than a maybe - and it might be closer than you think.
What I thought
This was a really sweet read. I can't imagine being born on Valentine's Day. I never cared for it much in high school either, but it was fun to follow Piper along as her birthday approached. I loved her cynicism and her wit. It made for a very fun read.I thought this had a great cast of characters. They all had their own personality, not blending together. I really liked Charlie. He was good with the little devils (they sure did seem like devils... even if they are just kids) and he even liked them. He fit in so well with Piper's life that I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation. I'm a sucker for the romances where the parties (or half of the party) doesn't realize the perfect person has been right next to them the entire time. Just makes my heart melt a little bit.
